“I had been looking for a swimming instructor for long and found Andy online. I am an adult and wanted to learn swimming from scratch. Andy was so amazing and patient with me. He made sure I feel safe in the water and the fear went away with him. I have only had three classes with him but even in those classes I was able to float easily, do flutter kicks and swim across the pool without any help and on my own. I was also able to breathe under water with his help as he made sure I know all the techniques. Andy is a great swim instructor, can’t recommend him enough!!!

“I can’t say enough good things about Andy! When I started, I was terrified of the water and could barely do a flutter kick. Thanks to his incredible skill, friendliness, and endless patience, I went from zero confidence to mastering three full strokes. His technique is top-notch, and he always took the time to actively help and explain. I would recommend Andy to anyone who wants to learn swimming—he’s truly a skilled and patient teacher!

“I wanted to give Andy a shoutout because I’m extremely glad I found out about him when I did. I had been trying to learn to swim as an adult for some time and took quite a few classes that didn’t really help as I had a fear of water. Andy helped guide me through that fear and before I knew it I was comfortable swimming and floating. I’d highly recommend him for adults who want to learn how to swim but are too afraid to.

“Andy has guided me through achieving my bronze cross with only about 4 lessons. My technique on backstroke and front crawl were preventing me from earning faster times and Andy knew exactly where the problems were located. He personalized his methods of teaching onto me so that I can efficiently learn where I need to improve and was extremely patient. Overall, Andy is a great coach for all levels of swimmers and personally is well-rounded and training students who want to achieve higher levels for life guarding.

“Andy is genuinely in a league of his own. I swam for 8 years as a kid through “reputable” swim schools — the kind that have taught thousands of students and produced Olympic swimmers — and yet Andy taught me more in just 4 adult lessons than all of those years combined.
He has a rare gift for meeting you where you are and actually breaking things down in a way that clicks. If you’re an adult learner who’s felt written off or stuck, book with Andy. I wish I’d found him years ago.”
“I came to Andy as an intermediate swimmer, I had learned how to swim as a kid, felt rusty and wanted to brush up on my skills before I went out paddle boarding on open water. Within the first lesson, Andy was able to pin point inefficiencies in my strokes and correct them right away. I
never enjoyed swimming that much as a child, but Andy truly made me feel like being in water is fun!!”
“I truly can’t say enough good things about Andy!! I’ve tried adult swimming classes a few times at public rec centers, but *nothing* has come close. I’ve always been a “sinker” so swimming has always been a real challenge (both mental and physical). And group classes always moved at a faster pace than what I felt confident with.
With Andy, it’s been the exact opposite. Andy is incredibly patient, and understands the skill so deeply. He’s able to mirror my positions, and explain concepts in a way that *I* understand (I’m a physics geek so he uses that a lot with me).
The amount of progress I’ve had in the past few months is unreal. I’ve gone from being afraid of water to swimming confidently (I even went scuba diving last year!). I even had a stranger who was near the pool approach us after class, wondering “how long I’ve been swimming for”. She couldn’t believe that I just started learning the skill. Obviously, I still have a lot to learn, but I’m confident Andy can get me there.

“I came to Andy as an adult who was genuinely afraid of water. Not nervous, afraid. Getting in at all was uncomfortable, and staying in was worse. Andy changed that completely.
What made the difference was his patience and his method. He never rushed me past the discomfort. He let me spend time just feeling the water, getting used to how it moves and how my body sits in it, before asking me to do anything with it.
Once that foundation was there, he broke everything down: every technique, every stroke, every small piece of what makes it work. He gave me specific drills for each one and made sure I actually understood the why behind them, not just the motion.
He is also incredibly accommodating. He met me exactly where I was, adjusted to how I learn, and never made me feel behind. The result is that I went from dreading the pool to genuinely enjoying it.”
“I started with an extreme fear of water - I could not even relax in the pool. Despite wanting to overcome this fear for years, every attempt I made only seemed to make it worse. Then I met Andy. From the very beginning, he understood the depth of my fear and patiently tailored each session to help me overcome it step by step. His thoughtful techniques and calm, supportive approach helped me build confidence session after session- until I was finally able to swim the breaststroke on my own. Something I never imagined would be possible.
Andy’s session is not only effective but also fun and relaxing. He genuinely makes me look forward to swimming. I am incredibly grateful to him for helping me achieve what once felt impossible”
“I’ve had such a great experience learning to swim with Andy! He is an excellent instructor - patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and very attentive to your individual progress.
He explains each technique clearly and in a way that’s easy to understand, while paying close attention to the small details that really help you improve. His patient and encouraging approach has made me feel much more comfortable and confident in the water.
Andy genuinely cares about his students’ progress and makes every lesson enjoyable. I’ve seen a noticeable improvement since starting with him and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and supportive swim instructor!”
“If you’re on the fence about taking up swimming as an adult, then I can’t recommend Andy enough! Though I have prior swimming experience, I’ve never been super comfortable in water because I struggled with my breathing and get easily claustrophobic. Within a single lesson, Andy was able to correct my breathing technique and form, and it has completely changed my relationship to swimming! Learning proper technique made me realize that I do in fact enjoy swimming, and it was wonderful to swim in a lake (instead of staying on the beach as I usually did) for the first time thanks to him. His lessons are so valuable and truly worth it.

“My husband wanted to learn to swim and after me showing him some very basic moves (and got stuck at arm/leg coordination), we decided that we need help from an experienced swimming instructor. After trying a couple of instructors, we settled w Andy. And Andy was able to fix my husband’s swimming problems within 3 classes and turned someone from barely able to float into swimming for 20 meters! Andy is very experienced, patient, and has great communication skills and was always very supportive (it’s always hard for an adult to learn to swim). We can see the improvement of my hubby’s swimming after every single class! He knows exactly what we need and was able to structure the classes based on our needs. We highly recommend Andy to anyone that wanted to learn to swim or to improve your swimming skills.
